Accessibility statement
Our commitment to an accessible service.
NextStep UK is designed to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation and adaptive settings.
What we've built in
- Semantic HTML, meaningful headings and visible focus outlines on every interactive element.
- Colour contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 AA.
- An "♿ Accessibility" toggle in the site header that increases base text size for the whole site.
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting — decorative animations are disabled automatically if you have this on. - Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images and ARIA labels on icon-only controls.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA.
